How do I get saved?

On this page we have outlined the steps to accepting Christ as your Savior.  Once you have accepted Christ it is imperative that you find and join a local, Bible believing Church to continue your growth in Christ.

• Realize that God loves you
  
  John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
  
  Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
   

• Understand that All have sinned
  
  Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
  
  Isaia 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
   

• Understand the result of sin
  
  Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

  James 1:14-16  ¹⁴But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. ¹⁵Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. ¹⁶Do not err, my beloved brethren.
   

• Realize that being good won't save you
  
  Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
  
  Ephesians 2:8-9  ⁸For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:  ⁹Not of works, lest any man should boast.
   

• Accept God's gift to you
  
  Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
  
  John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
   

• Become a New Creation
  
  Romans 10:9-13  ⁹That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. ¹⁰For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. ¹¹For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. ¹²For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. ¹³For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
  
  2^nd Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

John Wesley's Explanatory Notes expands on this last verse as follows:

2^nd Corinthians 5:17 - Therefore if any one be in Christ - A true believer in him. There is a new creation - Only the power that makes a world can make a Christian. And when he is so created, the old things are passed away - Of their own accord, even as snow in spring. Behold - The present, visible, undeniable change! All things are become new - He has new life, new senses, new faculties, new affections, new appetites, new ideas and conceptions. His whole tenor of action and conversation is new, and he lives, as it were, in a new world. God, men, the whole creation, heaven, earth, and all therein, appear in a new light, and stand related to him in a new manner, since he was created anew in Christ Jesus.
